Cobh Co. Cork Aire
This is an Aires on the harbour front in Cobh. No facilities except a play area for children. You can stay here for up to 48 hours free and the site can hold a lot of vans. To find the place head along Lower Road towards the main town. You will see a parking sign which will be the first right when driving along the day front.
This is an excellent place to stop if you are interested in the Titanic experience. A very short walk across the harbour bay and you are in the town centre where there are a number of shops and bars. On route to the town you will pass the titanic experience which is worth a visit. Information centre is also along the way and a very nice tea room at the train station. This also holds a Heritage museum about the historic naval town, emigration off the Irish and the Titanic which set sail from here. If you are lucky you may be here when one of the large cruise ships are in port. This would be a great experience to see pull in to a small bay.
If you are staying a few days the train stops near the site a few min’s walk away. Here you can get the train to Cork city centre saving on driving your van into a busy city. To top it all of you have the beautiful views across the harbour from sitting in your van at night.
