Pub Food

This is not a camping site, it’s actually a parking bay along the harbour edge at Dungarvan. This is a popular area for campers to pull in overnight. No facilities but its free to park over night which is a great save. The local town a 5 min stroll around the harbour wall will delight you with local shops and pubs. I will recommend the a pub called The Moorings , which after a long drive and ferry to Dungarvan was a thankful resting point for a good pint of Guinness and some great food.

We only stayed here for one night which is all you are suppose to do. It’s a nice stop over to break up the journey. In the evening it is very peaceful and if you are lucky to get a clear sky the night time stars will be a spectacular site, not much light pollution here. In the morning you wake to a wonderful view looking across the harbour. We were very lucky to have the local otter join us for breakfast. This is the sort of view you see on caravan magazines but normally cannot stay overnight.

So if you are travelling across Ireland in a camper it’s well worth a stopover night here.
