This campsite is very well run, clean and well organised. The highlight for the children was the swimming pool with 4 excellent slides which they could also take their rubber rings down. On site is a restaurant which serves very good food at a reasonable price and a bar next to the swimming pool. There is evening entertainment on high seasonal nights.
Just outside the site is a bike track which you can take off road all the way to the town of Lourdes. This took up about 30 min at a very slow pace. Lourdes is well worth a visit. This is a religious town known worldwide for the Sanctuaries Notre-Dame de Lourdes with lots of shops selling religious items and lots food restaurants and bars. If you visit during the day and would like some home cooking then I recommend the English tea shop on Boulevard de la Grotte called Eleanor Salon De The . They are English run and serve traditional English fish and chips with salt and villager (villager was imported from home) and an English cup of tea. Very friendly people who moved over to France some 15 years ago. Also worth a visit in the evening when there is a candle precession around the Notre-Dame from 21:00. We took the camper along and if you want there is an Aire you can stay the night just outside the town opposite the road Boulevard George Dupierries. Also if you are cycling and get to the end of the cycle track you turn left then follow road signed to the Grotte. This is not very well signed from the cycle track.
This site is ideally located to see the mountains of the Pyrenees. There is a lot to do here from hiking and mounting climbing to hill tobogganing. There is also an animal park across the road from the site.
We only stayed here for 4 nights and did not get to see all the surrounding area so will probably come back one year.
